Shopping & Errands
Two crates of water,
one route up the hill.
It's rarely the big things that make everyday life hard.
The Tegernsee valley is beautiful and decidedly hilly. What was second nature at fifty becomes a logistics exercise at eighty – all the more in winter, when the pavement is icy. And anyone with a home here who works in Munich during the week simply doesn't get around to it.
I take on those errands. Not as a delivery service with an app and a time slot, but as someone from the area who's out and about anyway and whom you can call.
What I take care of
You send me a list – by message, by email, or you tell me over the phone. I do the shopping, drop it off and, on request, put it straight away.
- Weekly shop at the supermarket of your choice
- Crates of drinks, even several floors up
- Filling prescriptions, pharmacy runs
- Drugstore and specialty shops
- Parcels to the post office or parcel station
- Receiving parcels and dropping them off
- Laundry to the dry cleaner and back
- Returns and exchanges
- Hardware store and garden centre
- Putting shopping away, taking returnable bottles
- Stocking the fridge before your arrival
- Flowers, gifts, errands for special occasions
For relatives who live further away
Some of my inquiries come not from the people themselves, but from their children – in Munich, Stuttgart, Hamburg. The parents live in the valley, manage well day-to-day, but shopping has become strenuous and no one is regularly nearby.
In these cases, coordination usually runs through the relatives, while I speak directly with the parents and align with them. That matters to me: I help with carrying, not with taking over.

What you get out of it
You send a list
Message, email or a call – whatever suits you best. No app, no account, no sign-up.
Billed with a receipt
I advance the cost and settle with a receipt. You see exactly what the shopping cost.

The most common case for second homes: you arrive, and the fridge is full.
Always the same person
By the third time I know which brand you mean. That's the difference to a delivery service.

What errands cost
I bill for the time I'm out and about: 37.50 € per hour. A normal weekly shop including travel, shopping and drop-off usually comes to about a full hour.
I advance the cost of the goods and settle it against the receipt – you pay no markup on the goods. For regular shopping I can collect this monthly rather than settling each time individually.
If there's an appointment at your place anyway – household, garden, a check-in visit – I'm happy to bring the shopping along. Then no extra travel time applies.
Service area
Where I'm out and about
I run errands in Tegernsee, Rottach-Egern, Bad Wiessee, Gmund and Kreuth. In Waakirchen, Schliersee, Holzkirchen and Miesbach on request.
Frequently asked questions
What I'm most often asked
How much does a shopping service cost at the Tegernsee?
At talhelfer, the time spent is billed at 37.50 € per hour. A normal weekly shop including travel and drop-off usually takes about an hour. I advance the cost of the goods and bill it against the receipt – there's no markup on the goods themselves.
How do I pay for the shopping?
I advance the amount and you get the receipt together with my invoice. For regular shopping, I can collect this and settle once a month by bank transfer. That's simpler for both sides than handling cash every time.
Which shops do you buy from?
Whichever shop you prefer – supermarket, butcher, baker, drugstore or specialty shop in the valley. If you have no preference, I shop wherever it makes sense on a route and let you know beforehand.
Do you also pick up prescriptions from the pharmacy?
Yes, pharmacy runs and filling prescriptions are among the most common errands. You give me the prescription or leave it ready, I collect the medication and drop it off. I can't and may not give advice on how to take it – that's what the pharmacy is for.
How short-notice can I book you?
I respond to every inquiry within 24 hours. Whether it works the same day depends on how my week is looking. For regular shopping I set a fixed weekday – then it's plannable for both of us.
Can I book this on a regular basis?
Yes, that's actually the most common form. A fixed day of the week, you send me the list beforehand, I come at the agreed time. If there's already a household or garden appointment scheduled, the shopping can simply be folded in.
Do you also stock the fridge before I arrive at my second home?
Yes, that's the most commonly booked errand among second-home owners. You tell me when you're arriving and what you need – then the basics are in the fridge when you unlock the door. Combined with the second-home care plan, the home is also heated and the beds are made.
